As one of Athens Academy’s Four Pillars of Learning, visual and performing arts are a vital component of every student’s education. Essential in nurturing creativity, critical thinking and curiosity, the arts deepen a student’s understanding and foster an appreciation for other cultures.
Athens Academy embraces the belief that all students have the potential to express themselves creatively.
The goal of the department is to foster and nurture each student as an artist and to give each student the tools to be successful. Athens Academy strives to cultivate an understanding and love of the arts by providing a positive environment in which the student and teacher can appreciate and explore the creative process together. 
Students have many opportunities to develop their interests and abilities by participating in our fine and performing arts programs. The arts play a significant role in the life of the school, both through academic courses and extra-curricular activities. Exhibitions by students and faculty, as well as performances and shows by visiting artists, help shape each student's cultural awareness and aesthetic sensitivity.
