Board of Trustees
Frank Sinkwich III '89, 2023-present
Frank Sinkwich was elected chairman of the Athens Academy Board of Trustees in July 2023. As a member of the Class of 1989, he is the first Athens Academy graduate to assume this role.
In addition to his role as president of both Northeast Sales and Skyland Distributing, Mr. Sinkwich has served on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Beer Wholesalers Association for many years and served as president from 2015-2016 and again from 2022-2023. He also served on the National Beer Wholesalers Association’s Board of Directors from 2016-2020 and was Southeast Region Chair for two years during his term.
With over 30 years of industry experience, Mr. Sinkwich also holds the credentials of Certified Cicerone by the Cicerone Certification Program, Certified Wine Educator (CWE) and Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) from the Society of Wine Educators, Certified Sommelier (CS) from the Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET Level III from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust and was once a candidate in the Master of Wine program.
Mr. Sinkwich is the third generation to lead the company founded by his grandfather, Heisman Trophy Winner Frank Sinkwich, Sr. Mr. Sinkwich attended Athens Academy for fifteen years and went on to graduate from the University of Georgia, where he studied classics. He and wife Lacy have two children, both graduates of Athens Academy: Frank IV (Class of 2017) and Adeline (Class of 2021).

Athens Academy
Athens Academy is an independent, co-educational school for students in K3 through 12th grade, located on a beautiful 152-acre campus in Northeast Georgia. For over 50 years, Athens Academy has pursued its mission of Excellence with Honor through academics, athletics, fine arts, and service and leadership.
