Athens Academy has one of the most successful golf programs in the state winning numerous region and state championships during its history. The golf program was co-ed prior to the 2006-07 school year with several outstanding girl participants making significant contributions within the team. While the majority of the current participants have significant exposure to the sport prior to joining the team, a small percentage of students are beginners seeking a lifelong activity. Through a developed partnership the team practices and competes at local courses during the season.
